Before ordering a meal you may need to ask for a table. If calling in advance, you could ask:
 
Könnte ich einen Tisch reservieren?

or

Ich möchte einen Tisch reservieren?

or if in the restaurant, you could ask:

Haben Sie einen Tisch für zwei/drei?
Waiter
 
Once seated, the waiter/waitress will need to know what you would like to order.
